Clarification on MOnthly Winners

Must an add-on be submitted after the 1st of a given month to be considered for best plugin of the month, or is it possible for an add-on submitted in February to be considered in March.

I am just trying to balance the effort put into polishing the app vs getting it in early. (February seems to have few entries thus far, I suspect May will be a mad dash with most entries)

    Hi Edward,

    Every add-on will be considered for the add-on of the month prize for the calendar month in which it is submitted to the Atlassian Marketplace. Our goal in offering monthly prizes is to encourage early submissions, without a doubt.

    Remember that the first judging criteria is "Usefulness." We will certainly consider the potential of an add-on to be a great solution for customers, even if it is not fully polished. We have faith that any developer who can build a prize winning add-on will be committed to continuously polishing and improving their work.

    Based on that I just finished up a rough polish of my application and submitted here and the marketplace. Will it be visible once it completes the marketplace review?

    When will the monthly winners be announced? Is this also monthly, or will all winners be notified end on June?

    @Stefan, based on Dave's answer above and a re-reading of the rules I believe all prizes (including monthlies) will be awarded in June.

    Actually I immediately retract that.. the FAQ's imply awards for monthlies may be announced sooner (or perhaps just judged sooner)
    "Prizes will be awarded on a rolling basis each month through May 31, 2013. This means we will award prizes separately for add-ons submitted in February, March, April, and May"

    Edward, I believe it's not true; all winners will be known in June, not before.

    Hi guys,

    To clarify: we will likely announce the monthly winners before June. (Although we don't have exact dates yet). However, no prizes will be disbursed until June.
